Sports Proyect Manager

Scope of the Job:

Our client is looking for candidates with experience in working on high profile and unique architectural projects in the areas of Sports Architecture, Entertainment and Public Assembly. Our client has a rich heritage of sports, entertainment planning, and design dating back to the early 1900s, when the firm designed a highly regarded sports stadium for a major national league. Since then, they have designed and engineered numerous sports architecture icons including several stadiums. Today their Sports practice focuses on the design of athletic facilities and entertainment venues. As the firm grows, they are currently looking for an architectural manager. This key role will engage all areas of our practice with a focus on project management, staff management, and group operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for managing all aspects of diverse project(s).
  • Serves as primary liaison contact with the clients to bring projects to completion on schedule, within budget and with client satisfaction.
  • Responsible for the coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical, to assure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.
  • Actively manages client’s budget, schedule and program as well as internal resources for success.
  • Responsible for project communications and documentation.
  • Provides oversight and monitoring of work to less experienced project managers.
  • Coordinates work efforts and reviews work performed. Assist with scheduling and managing task and work loads of multiple design teams.
  • Estimates fees, determines scope of work, and prepares proposals and contracts on the most complex projects.
  • Responsible for training and mentoring of staff.
  • Interface and report to the Director and other project teams.
  • Lead and manage multi-discipline design teams.
  • Peer Review of all construction documents, drawings and specifications, including all engineering disciplines.
  • Lead/Mentor/Supervise Architectural Staff.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture
  • Must have 12+ years of project architect experience within one or more of the following fields: Sports (stadiums, arenas, practice facilities, etc. or Entertainment studios
  • Must have strong understanding and knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, building construction, building systems, and site requirements
  • Architectural License is required
  • Excellent communication skills, able to have a solid working relationship with clients
  • Proficient in AutoCAD – required
  • Proficient in Photoshop – preferred
  • Proficient in current version of Revit Architecture – preferred
  • Proficient in Sketchup (or other 3D software) - preferred
  • Proficient in LEED – preferred
