Job description

Pennoni is a multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm founded more than five decades ago. Pennoni is currently seeking an Engineering Intern to assist on multi-discipline designs for public & private site development projects while based at our office in Princeton, NJ. This position will primarily support Staff and Project-level Engineers in all aspects of projects (including conceptual/planning, preliminary design, detailed development, construction documentation, permitting documents, and engineering reports).
Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist Project Engineers in the preparation of land development plans for public & private clients.
  • Contribute to the preparation of site plans; this includes site grading, stormwater management [SWM], and utility design for proposed land development projects.
  • Assist with the preparation of permit applications & reports.
  • Work in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team environment under the supervision of a Senior Professional Engineer.
  • Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.

Basic Requirement:
In order to qualify, we need you to be enrolled in a relevant Engineering-oriented field of study (e.g.: Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering, etc.) at an ABET-accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exposure to relevant CADD & Engineering software tools (e.g.: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam, etc.).
  • This person will also be expected to utilize basic office software tools: MS-Office 365 (e.g.: Outlook, Excel, and Word) as well as Adobe PDF applications.
  • Exposure to land development, water resources engineering, and/or stormwater management design projects is a plus!
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
