Role Summary

The Lead, E-Commerce Fulfillment is responsible for leading day-to-day execution of assigned fulfillment workstreams (Batching, Picking/Packing, Shipping, or Inventory/Replenishment) to ensure orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. This role acts as the primary point of contact for associates on shift, drives productivity and quality, and escalates operational issues as needed.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong floor presence and the ability to coach, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced e-commerce environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Execution

  • Lead daily execution of assigned DTC fulfillment workstream
  • Assign labor, manage task prioritization, and balance workload throughout the shift
  • Ensure orders are processed in accordance with SLA, accuracy, and quality standards
  • Monitor backlog, throughput, and bottlenecks; adjust staffing as needed
  • Support batching and wave execution in coordination with batching associates

People Leadership

  • Provide on-the-floor direction, coaching, and feedback to associates
  • Train new hires and cross-train associates across fulfillment functions
  • Reinforce standard work, safety, and compliance expectations
  • Support performance management through real-time feedback and documentation
  • Serve as escalation point for associate questions and issues during shift

Quality & Accuracy

  • Ensure pick, pack, and ship accuracy standards are met
  • Support root cause analysis for errors, rework, and customer-impacting issues
  • Partner with Inventory team on discrepancies, shortages, and corrections
  • Maintain high standards for handling high-value or priority orders as required

Systems & Reporting

  • Use WMS (Extensiv) and related systems to monitor workflow and exceptions
  • Report shift performance metrics to Supervisor
  • Identify process gaps and recommend continuous improvement opportunities
  • Ensure accurate system transactions and adherence to SOPs

Collaboration & Escalation

  • Partner with Supervisor to execute daily labor plan
  • Coordinate with other Team Leads to balance cross-functional workload
  • Escalate risks impacting SLA, safety, or customer experience
  • Support special workflows as needed (e.g., peak volume, priority orders)

Required Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of fulfillment, warehouse, or distribution experience
  • Prior lead, senior associate, or informal leadership experience preferred
  • Experience in DTC / e-commerce fulfillment strongly preferred
  • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Comfort working on the floor for the majority of the shift

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with WMS systems (Extensiv preferred)
  • Experience in multi-shift operations
  • Familiarity with batching, wave planning, and inventory processes
  • Exposure to high-volume or high-accuracy fulfillment environments
