Job description

Hardware Hawaii, a local retail hardware and lumber business, is seeking a customer oriented and highly motivated individual for a full-time position as a Sales Manager. The individual we seek is outgoing and enjoys working with customers in providing the best possible customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prospects, qualifies and generates sales within the company’s established policies handling both walk-up and established customers.

  • Identifies revenue opportunities within customers' communities through verbal and written communications, programs and other activities identified as directed.

  • Monitors market conditions and stays up to date on industry competitors.

  • Telephones prospects to identify appropriate contacts, qualify and drive leads through the sales pipeline.

  • Identifies and closes additional purchases of products and services by customers' communities.

  • Responds in a timely manner to requests from customers for information and provides continued follow up building rapport with customers.

  • Attends sales department meetings, provide input and/or industry insight and participates in reaching comp revenues, goals and forecast.

  • Remains knowledgeable and up-to-date on changes and developments in the e-commerce industries.  Attend industry related seminars or meetings.

  •  Assist customers in resolving issues or concerns, possibly having to resolve or salvaging lost business.

  • Provide weekly update reports with current activity and plans for the next week to immediate supervisor.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Associates degree (AA) or equivalent

  • A minimum of two years sales experience required

  • Basic knowledge of lumber, building material and hardware

  • Proven sales and personnel management abilities required

  • Internet and MSOffice Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel) experience required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to negotiate, be innovative and persuasive
