Charter Casting | Woodstock, IL
Charter Casting is seeking an experienced Logistics & Material Flow Coordinator to lead the day-to-day coordination of shipping, receiving, inventory control, warehouse operations, and material flow activities. This highly visible role serves as a key link between Operations, Production, Customer Service, Sales, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure customer orders are fulfilled safely, efficiently, and on time.

As the Logistics & Warehouse Coordinator, you will:
  • Coordinate daily shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, and inventory control activities.
  • Develop and communicate daily and weekly shipping and warehouse priorities.
  • Balance customer demand with inventory availability, production capacity, labor resources, and transportation requirements.
  • Monitor open orders, inventory levels, shipment status, and customer commitments.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound transportation with customers, carriers, and logistics providers.
  • Prepare and maintain shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing slips, receipts, and production records.
  • Support inventory control activities including cycle counts, audits, FIFO compliance, transaction reviews, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Research and resolve shipping, receiving, inventory, and order-related issues.
  • Coordinate material movement throughout production, warehouse, staging, shipping, and receiving areas.
  • Communicate risks related to production delays, shortages, transportation challenges, and customer delivery commitments.
  • Analyze operational and inventory data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) by providing visibility to customer demand, inventory levels, capacity constraints, and material flow requirements.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
  • Serve as a backup resource for the supervisor during planning meetings and operational decision-making.
  • Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 4+ years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, shipping/receiving, inventory control, production support, or manufacturing.
  • Experience coordinating logistics, inventory, shipping, receiving, or material flow activities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of packing slips, bills of lading, shipment scheduling, inventory management, cycle counting, and warehouse processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working directly with customers, freight carriers, and cross-functional operational teams.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, ERP systems, and warehouse management tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Forklift certification.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Business, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Oracle ERP or similar ERP system experience.
  • Experience supporting S&OP, demand planning, inventory planning, or operational planning processes.
  • Experience working with third-party logistics providers and truck line carriers.
  • Inventory control and warehouse optimization experience.
  • Metals processing or manufacturing industry experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Leadership or team development training.
  • Certified Forklift Trainer certification.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on various factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and qualifications. Compensation decisions are tailored to the unique circumstances of each position and candidate.
