Job description

Job Summary:The Dump Truck Driver Class A is responsible for operating heavy-duty trucks for transporting materials to and from project sites.Duties & Responsibilities:Operates and maneuvers Class A dump trucks to transport construction materials between sites.Loads and unloads materials efficiently, ensuring proper distribution and securing of the load.Adheres to all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating the dump truck.Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle's safety and report any issues promptly.Maintains effective communication with construction site supervisors and other team members to coordinate material deliveries and pickups.Performs routine maintenance on the dump truck, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and ensuring overall vehicle functionality.Keeps accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and any incidents that may occur during transportation.Addresses and resolves any issues that may arise during transportation, such as traffic delays or mechanical problems, while keeping supervisors informed.Performs other duties as assigned.Required Skills & Abilities: Excellent verbal and communication skills.Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills. Ability to drive safely.Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.Ability to maintain basic logs and records.Able to remain professional and courteous at all times.Available to work various hours and shifts as neededEducation & Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required. At least one year of experience as a Class A dump truck driver in a construction or related industry required. Must possess a valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.Physical Requirements:Visual acuity to follow hand signals, maintain logs, and inspect and maintain machinery.Active, physical work involving occasionally; lifting (50+ lbs), carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching.Frequently walking, standing, and driving and operating equipment for extended periods of time.Requires focus adjustment, depth perception, clear close & distant vision.Requires regular use of hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms.Requires regular use of eyes, shoulders & neck to monitor vehicle mirrors & back-up camera.Must be able to work in all weather types, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
