Job description

Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities:

  • Operating dump truck to transport materials such as crushed rock, sand, gravel, asphalt and debris
  • Loading and unloading materials using the trucks hydraulic system
  • Performing daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle
  • Maintaining accurate driver logs and delivery records if applicable
  • Complying with all safety rules, road regulations and weight restrictions
  • Follow all company policies per Employee Handbook & Code of Conduct.
  • Follow all company safety guidelines.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) typically Class A or B
High School diploma or GED
Clean driving record and ability to pass drug testing/screening
Current DOT Medical card
Experience operating standard dump trucks
Knowledge of construction site safety and road safety regulations
Ability to read and interpret delivery instructions and schedules
Physical stamina to work long hours in various weather conditions
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with truck maintenance and ability to perform basic upkeep
Maintain cab of truck in a neat and orderly fashion

Professional Attitude & conduct

Multi-task, interpersonal communication, problem solving, and time management skills are needed.

High degree of safety awareness and safety discipline

Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.

Willing to travel and work away from home when and if required.

Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.

Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist coworkers or supervisors with other duties as required.

Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by Pittman Construction Safety and OSHA.

Be at least age 18 years of age due to nature of working environment.

You will be expected to be flexible to the needs of our business, as we continually strive to meet and exceed the needs of our customers.
