Job description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced DSD Hispanic Food and Beverage Sales Representative and Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for selling our range of Hispanic food and beverage products to a variety of customers, including retailers such as gas stations, c-stores, and mini-market accounts in the Birmingham, AL area, and for delivering products to customers in a timely and efficient manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • In this role, you will be able to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, understand their way of doing business, learn about their goals and priorities, and establish how RiteFill DSD can meet them. As a DSD sales representative and driver, you will need to meet and exceed sales targets, deliver products in a timely and efficient manner using a company-owned vehicle, and ensure that the products are stocked, displayed, and promoted effectively in our stores.
  • Accountable for the preservation of the company vehicle
  • Manage the entire DSD sales cycle from loading the truck, monitoring truck inventory, finding clients, closing the deal, and doing daily settlements to ensure business success.
  • Create new sales opportunities through networking.
  • Provide professional consultation on the Latin American food and beverage consumption.
  • Respond to complaints and resolve issues to satisfy our customers and to maintain RiteFill DSD and Ethnix Group’s reputation.
  • Accountable for meeting RiteFill DSD Accounts Business Unit KPI’s and sales budget
  • Comfortable, steel-toe or composite closed-toe shoes are required, and protective safety footwear is required in select business units.
  • Must be able to meet predictable attendance and punctuality expectations and physical demands of the position, complying with Ethnix Group’s policies and performance expectations.

Organizational Responsibilities:

Follows established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and operational processes related to area(s) of responsibility and reporting violations or infractions to appropriate individual(s).

Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Company, warehouse, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards by immediately reporting any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, employee/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the appropriate individual(s).

Identifies areas for improvement and offers suggestions to improve the site's efficiency, profitability, and productivity.

Keeps abreast of current changes in technology, logistics tools, processes, and standards within the industry and area(s) of responsibility by attending internal and external training programs and by accessing other sources of information, and applies knowledge and practices to area(s) of responsibility.

Work Hours (may vary by state or location):

This position is scheduled for 40 hours in a regular work week. Hours of operation vary by site and shift. Must be available to work on weekends when scheduled and must be able to perform the essential job functions unaccompanied.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Employment history that demonstrates the application and usage of a DSD sales and marketing platform, internet, and CRM platform background sufficient to resolve customer complaints and issues, and complete financial records, documents, and reports. A bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is required.

Language Ability:

Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to comprehend and complete legal documents, and answer questions in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Math Ability:

Demonstrated mathematical skills necessary to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, decimals, and fractions, and calculate percentages to complete daily settlements, reports, and inventory audits and other reporting information.

Reasoning Ability:

Demonstrated ability to apply sales skills, such as generating sales leads, conducting sales presentations, qualifying prospects, and closing sales. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, TEAMS, and spreadsheet management programs to complete required reports and employment documents. Proficiency and fluency in using the internet.

Certificates and Licenses:

A current, valid driver’s license is required.

Incumbents work in a warehouse environment, where temperature may vary in some parts of the warehouse (cooler/freezer), but also have frequent exposure to outside elements, where temperature, weather, odors, and/or landscape may be unpleasant and/or hazardous. You’ll be working around moving machines – order pickers, stand-up forklifts, turret trucks, and mobile carts.  Depending on the weather, temperatures can be over 90°F in the truck yard or inside trailers.

Routine, local travel may be required to attend training classes, conduct market research, or other situations necessary for the accomplishment of some or all of the daily responsibilities of this position.
