Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and dual-skilled Commercial Construction Foreman & Superintendents to manage and oversee all phases of mid-to-large-scale commercial wall and ceiling construction projects. The ideal candidate must combine proven on-site management and supervisory expertise with a deep proficiency in high-level wall & Ceiling performance management. This role requires exceptional leadership, strong organizational skills, and a readiness to engage in hands-on work to maintain project schedules and ensure superior quality standards, particularly in finish trades. Preference will be given to candidates with specialized experience in commercial drywall and ceiling installation. This is a growing company and proven performance can lead to expedited promotions.

Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight & Management

  • Manage and direct all commercial construction and tenant improvement processes, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
  • Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of all subcontractors, vendors, and field crew members, ensuring efficient workflow and strict adherence to the project schedule.
  • Maintain daily/weekly schedules, monitoring progress, and communicating timely updates and changes to the Project Manager and all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment to anticipate needs prior to and during project work, and manage material deliveries.

Quality Control, Safety, and Technical Expertise

  • Perform routine quality control inspections to ensure all work meets architectural plans, specifications, and the company's high quality standards.
  • Interpret, read, and enforce commercial construction drawings, specifications, and blueprints, providing technical support and clarification to subcontractors on layout and dimensional questions.
  • Lead by example to enforce company safety policies, conduct regular site walks and safety meetings, and maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment compliant with all legal regulations.

Hands-on Carpentry & Finish Trades

  • Perform high-quality, hands-on finish carpentry and construction labor as needed to ensure the timely completion of critical tasks and uphold quality standards.
  • Demonstrate high-level proficiency in interior and exterior finish carpentry, including installing doors, frames, hardware, millwork, and trim.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of commercial drywall installation, finishing, and repair.
  • Lead or assist with the installation of various ceiling systems, including acoustic panel and grid (drop) ceilings.
  • Complete necessary basic repairs and punch list items directly to reduce cycle times and maintain project efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction field operations experience, with a demonstrated background in commercial projects.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in reading, understanding, and interpreting architectural, civil, and structural plan sets. Demonstrated mastery of finish carpentry and proficiency in drywall and ceiling installation.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, supervise, and develop teams in a fast-paced commercial construction environment.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with subcontractors, clients, and internal team members.
