Position Summary

Reporting to the Sanitation/Shift Lead or Shift Supervisor, the Sanitation Laborer is an entry level position which is responsible for performing all sanitation requirements within the plant.

Position Responsibilities

  • Clean all plant areas that are not readily cleanable during normal operating hours.
  • Use water and chemicals only upon the direction and approval of the Shelling Plant Shift Lead. Dry cleaning is the only authorized method during production.
  • Take special care, following Preventive Controls when cleaning product contact surfaces such as elevator buckets and conveyor surfaces. Do not use any chemicals on food contact surfaces.
  • Strictly adhere to all SDS and label instructions of all cleaning products.
  • Use only plastic type scrapers on food contact surfaces.
  • Empty all mop buckets upon completion of mopping task.
  • Account for all cleaning materials and notify Shelling Plant Shift Lead of any missing, unlabeled, or misused materials.
  • Understand ofi Peanut Shelling safety policies, work safely and report any safety hazards or unsafe conditions to the Plant Manager or Safety Coordinator.
  • Comply with all of Peanut Shelling Company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Preventive Control Rules, and Occupational Safety Rules.
  • Comply with all ofi Peanut Shelling Company Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs).
  • Notify supervision of any conditions that may affect the Safe Food Manufacturing Policies and Preventive Control Rules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED 
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills. 
  • Physical dexterity. 
  • Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary)
  • This role is performed on site at a facility that regularly processes peanuts Employees in this position will routinely work in areas where peanuts and related allergens are present and may be exposed by contact or in the air.
