Job Summary:
Utah Valley University is seeking a Web Developer to enhance the digital experience for students, faculty, and the community. This role involves creating and maintaining websites using modern web technologies and collaborating with various departments to provide web solutions that improve engagement and accessibility.
Responsibilities:
• Creates and maintains web pages and sites using the approved content management system.
• Uses HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other related front-end web languages to create and maintain UVU public-and internal-facing websites following University web guidelines and industry web best practices.
• Works with assigned departments and personnel to provide web assistance, basic maintenance, content management, and technical support.
• Works with departments to organize and guide projects, such as website builds, by following departmental procedures and guidelines.
• Ensures that projects stay within timeline, scope, and standard development methods and functionality.
• Keeps up-to-date on front-end web technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery best practices, web accessibility guidelines, web analytics, SEO, and other related skills.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
• A minimum of 1 year of related experience.
• A High School Diploma, or GED.
• Experience in front-end web development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Preferred:
• Experience working with a content management system (CMS) like WordPress, Joomla, or Drupal.
• Experience in responsive design and building web pages for multiple browsers and platforms.
• Experience with web standards and accessibility guidelines.
• Experience with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and web analytics tools.
• Proficiency with user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design principles.
• Proficiency in server-side languages, such as PHP, etc.
• Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (like Vue.js).
