Job description

Role: Solution Architect – Drupal
Location: Gaithersburg, MD – Hybrid (Need only EST candidates who can travel to client location)
Long Term Contract – W2/C2C

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Drupal Solution Architect with strong expertise in Drupal CMS, Acquia Cloud platform, and API integrations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing scalable, secure, and high-performing web solutions while collaborating with stakeholders, developers, and business teams to deliver enterprise-grade digital experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of Drupal-based solutions on the Acquia hosting platform.
  • Define and enforce technical standards, coding practices, and architectural guidelines for Drupal projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable Drupal solutions.
  • Integrate Drupal CMS with third-party systems and tools using REST APIs, JSON, and GraphQL.
  • Optimize performance, scalability, and security of Drupal sites on Acquia Cloud.
  • Provide technical leadership to development teams, reviewing solution designs and code quality.
  • Implement and configure Google tools (Analytics, Tag Manager, Search Console) for digital performance tracking and optimization.
  • Design and oversee CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for Drupal deployments.
  • Stay updated on Drupal advancements, Acquia product updates, and web technology trends.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of professional experience in Drupal CMS architecture and development.
  • Strong expertise in Drupal 9/10 and modern web technologies (PHP 8, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Twig, Symfony).
  • Proven experience in architecting solutions on the Acquia hosting platform.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and Search Console.
  • Strong background in API design, integration, and security (REST, GraphQL, OAuth2, JWT).
  • Experience with Acquia Site Studio, Acquia DAM, Acquia CDP, or similar enterprise tools (preferred).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools, and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and lead technical discussions.
  • Ability to travel to Gaithersburg, MD as required by the client.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Familiarity with personalization and A/B testing using Acquia Lift or similar tools.
  • Experience integrating Drupal with marketing automation platforms (Marketo, HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
  • Prior experience working in regulated industries (Healthcare, Pharma, or Life Sciences).
