Overview & Logistics
  • Role Title: Web Developer (Senior Level)

  • Agency: NYS Information Technology Services (ITS)

  • Location: 50 Wolf Rd, Albany, NY, 12232 (Region 1 - Capital Area)

  • Work Arrangement: Telecommuting allowed up to 50%

  • Schedule: Full-time, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch)

  • Duration: 18-Month Engagement

  • Target Start Date: August 13, 2026

  • Interview Format: Webcasting (Candidate must be on camera)

  • Compliance: Mandatory Fingerprint Background Check, ITS Security Agreements, and mandatory OER training.

🛠️ Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Ensuring all developed Drupal websites are usable, functionally accessible, responsively designed, and compliant with NYS standards.

  • Developing Drupal themes, custom functionality, and modules (both frontend and backend).

  • Utilizing PHP, JavaScript/jQuery, and HTML/CSS/Twig templating.

  • Working within an Acquia Cloud environment and handling knowledge transfer to state developers via written documentation and training.

  • Experience Required: 60 to 84+ Months of professional experience working independently as a Web Developer, providing guidance to others, and building applications run over HTTP from a web server to a browser.

Core Technical Experience Matrix
  • 64+ Months: Custom Drupal module development (including modules, features, and themes).

  • 48+ Months: Working with Acquia, SearchStax, and SOLR.

  • 48+ Months: Using standard Drupal modules like CTools, Views, and Panels, including extending them through custom code.

  • 64+ Months: UI development using HTML/5, CSS/3, and SASS.

  • 64+ Months: Core backend programming experience with PHP.

  • 64+ Months: Web graphical, browser, and cross-platform compatibility testing, alongside responsive design creation.
