Two locations | Hundreds of students | W-2 position

Are you a great drummer who loves teaching?
Do you enjoy that moment when a student finally gets it—and suddenly realizes, “Wait, I can actually do this?”

We do too.
Boston School of Music Arts is a well-established, and growing music school with hundreds of students taking lessons every week. We're looking for an energetic, experienced Drum Instructor to join our faculty.
This is a great opportunity for a working musician who wants steady students, competitive pay, and a school that handles the business side of teaching.

WHAT WE OFFER

$30–$45/hour — private lessons
$40–$60/hour — groups & bands
$18–$20/hour — training
Plus:
  • W-2 employment
  • PTO for regular schedules over 25 hours/week

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for someone who is:
  • A strong drummer/percussionist and experienced performer
  • An engaging, positive teacher and person who connects naturally with kids
  • Comfortable teaching students ages 4 through adult
  • Comfortable leading private lessons, small groups and bands
  • Excited about helping students build real musical skills and confidence
ALSO: Piano, guitar, or bass experience is a plus.

A Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field is preferred, but not required.

Some of our best teachers are working musicians who bring together great playing, teaching experience, and personality.
THE JOB

You'll teach private drum/percussion lessons and may lead groups and bands. You'll help students build technique, prepare for performances and auditions, and—most importantly—discover that they're capable of more than they thought.
We believe music lessons aren't just about learning an instrument.
They're about confidence, persistence, creativity, and that moment when a student realizes:

“I can actually do this.”
