Job description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Calibration Technician with a strong background in mechanical calibration. The selected candidate will perform calibration of inspection, measuring, and test equipment in both our laboratory environment and at customer sites as required.

The Mechanical Calibration Technician will collaborate with team members and, at times, work independently. As such, strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration and verification of mechanical inspection, measurement, and test equipment.
  • Conduct calibration activities in the laboratory and at customer facilities as needed.
  • Document calibration results accurately and maintain compliance with internal and external quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot measurement discrepancies and provide technical support to customers and team members.
  • Ensure proper handling, maintenance, and operation of calibration equipment.
  • Collaborate with other technicians to meet timelines and deliver high-quality service.
  • Regional travel to customer sites with up to 20% overnight travel; travel is mostly to local customers

The Field Service Technician duties would include but not limited to field calibration work.  Technician would also be required to receive training in-lab and in the field upon hiring.  Technician would also on occasion be required to work in-lab when field work was not fully booked.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in calibration of tensile and compression test machines
  • Extensometers, Rockwell Hardness testers, Brinell Hardness testers, Micro and Macro Hardness Testers preferred but not required. 
  • Experience in with torque, pressure, surface plates, optical comparators, weight scales, micrometers, calipers is a plus
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and/or a combination of experience and education
  • Ability to work around operating equipment and industrial environments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • A clean driving record, background check, and drug screen
  • Ability to travel via automobile or by air to reach our customer base
  • Ability to work overtime when needed to meet customer requirements 
  • Ability to adapt to the schedule changes when needed
