Mirtazapine is an antidepressant that typically does not show up on standard drug tests, which usually screen for substances like opioids, THC, amphetamines, cocaine, and PCP. What should I expect during the drug testing process when applying for roles that require drug tests?

When applying for a position that requires drug testing, you can typically expect to undergo testing either before your employment begins or as part of ongoing random checks. Most employers use urine, saliva, or hair follicle tests, and the process is conducted by a third-party medical facility to ensure privacy and accuracy. It's important to follow all instructions provided by the employer and testing site, as failure to comply may result in withdrawal of your job offer. If you have concerns about prescription medications, be proactive in discussing them with the testing administrator, as legitimate prescriptions usually have procedures for documentation.
