Job Description

Quality Inspector 2 - 2nd Shift (approx. 3:00pm to 11:00pm) starting at $18.75 per hour, plus a $2.00 per hour premium shift differential!

The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting printed materials and performing quality tests to ensure products meet customer specifications and company standards. 

Responsibilities

  • Perform "samples" selection and package for shipment.
  • Perform visual inspection of random samples of product selected during a production run or post production looking for a variety of possible defects such as ragged edges, torn or wrinkled pages, incomplete cuts, incorrect bindings, smeared or blotched colors, dirt on the product, misalignment, and any other visual defect that is out of specification.
  • Follow inspection checklist and record any identified defects.
  • Follow established quality Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure product meets quality conformance specified by the customer.
  • Prepares written reports and provides notification to manufacturing management of known or found defects.
  • Identify potential issues and involve department Lead and/or management to determine an appropriate solution.
  • May assist with special projects or more complex customer orders.
  • May assist with disposition of defective or non-conforming product.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
     
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 2 or more years of experience in a quality control/assurance function required
  • Requires good knowledge of general administrative and manufacturing operations procedures and knowledge of job specific processes key to successfully execute and complete the duties of the job.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills sufficient to explain quality policy, methods and/or procedures when completing assignments, as well as provide a level of detail required to resolve issues.
  • Requires very good organizational skills sufficient to accomplish work by established deadlines and ability to coordinate phases of work with others.
  • Requires strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-pace environment. 
     
Additional Information

Position Hours: 2nd shift (approx. 3:00pm to 11:00pm). Qualified candidates must be able to work afternoon and evening hours. There is a $2.00 per hour premium shift differential. 

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $18.75 to $21.25 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
