Job description

Summary

The Value Added Services Processor ensures packages that drop down the VAS lane are processed and handed off to the Shipping Department in a timely manner.

Hourly Rate of Pay: $22.50/hr

Shift Hours: 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Duties and responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:

  • Responsible for completion of VAS or correcting the error causing the cartons to drop down the VAS lane.
  • Print and apply different labels to product and/or cartons to meet customer requirements.
  • Check item for accuracy and count for an out of weight tolerance – any package the weights +/- four (4) lbs. is diverted to the VAS lane.
  • Identify and correct the data for parcel packages that do not manifest and complete the manifest process.
  • Responsible for correcting labels that cannot be read by the scanner.
  • Work with Routers and Shippers to ensure items are prepared to ship.
  • Assist with quality audits.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain Company and OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.                                

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three (3) months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Beginner level of experience in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Detail orientated and strong organization skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, feel; reach with both hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • Ability for prolonged standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and balancing.
  • Lifting to a maximum of fifty pounds (50 lbs.), with frequent lifting and carrying of up to forty-five pounds (45 lbs.).
  • Good eye/hand coordination.
