Summary/Objective:
The Roll-off driver is primarily responsible for safely operating roll-off trucks to transport scrap material from local customers, scrap yards, and designated drop-off points as assigned. This role involves daily interaction with customers, adherence to safety protocols, and contributing to the overall efficiency of scrap metal collection and processing operations.
Essential Functions:
  • Operate company owned vehicle for the delivery and pick-up of scrap material.
  • Completes daily pre-shift/pre-trip inspection of truck reporting any issues promptly.
  • Provides outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations representing the company in a positive manner.
  • Maintains all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs.
  • Communicate with dispatch and yard personnel regarding schedules, delays, or issues.
  • Stages trailers at docks as directed by scale operator as needed.
  • Assists with inventory of trailers at end of each business day detailing loaded or empty as needed.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
  • Performs other projects/tasks as assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
  • This is a full-time position and work days are Monday through Friday.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day.
