Fiber Optic Installer / Technicians (Drop & Bury)
General Laborers

Location: Summerdale, Alabama and surrounding area

CSL CONNECT

We are a growing telecommunications company specializing in fiber optic installations for various major telecommunication companies. We’re looking for motivated, reliable individuals to join our team as Fiber Optic Technicians (drop & bury).

Job Description:
• Install, bury, and secure fiber optic cables using various hand and power tools in compliance with schematics and safety standards
• Operate heavy equipment such as trenchers and other construction machinery to facilitate cable installation
• Perform fiber splicing to connect and test fiber optic lines ensuring optimal performance
• Use telecommunication and network testing equipment to troubleshoot connectivity issues across LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet, and telephone systems
• Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic systems
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, including installation logs

Qualifications:
• Ability to use basic hand tools and testing equipment
• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail

Preferred (but not required):
• Prior experience in FTTH (Fiber to the Home) installations or related construction type work preferred
• Knowledge of splicing and OTDR testing
• Experience using hand and power tools / operating a concrete saw / operating a trencher (Ditch Witch 255SX)
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation a major asset
