Job description

Position Title: Safety Manager
Location: Reno, Nevada
Compensation: $48.24/hour | Per Diem: $4,515 | Hourly W2 Full Time | OT after 40 hours | Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental |
Position Overview
The Safety Manager - 1 is a key member of the project team, responsible for leading and maintaining a safe, compliant, and well-managed job site on large-scale data center construction projects. This role ensures all phases of work-including civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical scopes-adhere to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and project expectations through active field presence, inspections, and enforcement of safety protocols. Operating in a fast-paced, high-risk environment, this position also supports safety documentation, subcontractor coordination, and promotes a strong safety culture across the site.
Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and enforce site-specific safety programs in alignment with OSHA regulations and project requirements
  • Conduct daily safety walks, audits, and site inspections
  • Lead site orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety meetings
  • Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure accountability across all teams
  • Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate EHS documentation and ensure full regulatory compliance
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all on-site safety matters

Required Experience & Qualifications
  • 3+ years of safety experience on large-scale construction projects
  • OSHA 30 certification required
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction standards
  • Experience with data center or large-scale industrial projects preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and lead by example in the field
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or related field
  • Ability to analyze safety data and trends to drive continuous improvement
  • Experience working on data center, mission-critical, or high-tech construction projects
