You will be working in the Infrastructure OU based in Kent in where we are responsible for bringing design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide - combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.


The Lower Thames Crossing (LTC) is one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects.  LTC is a new road that will connect Kent and Essex through a tunnel beneath the River Thames and will be the greenest road ever built in the UK - creating six times more green space than road. The reliable new route will almost double road capacity over the river east of London to reduce congestion and give millions of people more choice on where they live, work and spend their valuable time. We have a diverse programme team on LTC that reflects the communities we work in and fosters an inclusive culture by actively supporting the programme's Purpose, Principles and Cultural Pillars and growing employee networks.


We are currently looking for a Engineering Surveyor - Drone who will provide expert advice and estimation of cost to the project team on drone needs and requirements. 


As the Engineering Surveyor - Drone, you will:

  • To be the knowledge lead and technical point of contact for drones/uav use within the project. 
  • To ensure the project is compliant with the requirements and regulations of the CAA and our customers. 
  • Ensure that the team have the correct training/knowledge in how to work safely with drones. 
  • Develop the project drone pilots and the Engineering survey team members to meet project drone needs. 
  • Ensure that the project has the appropriate survey control network to fulfil the requirements for drone use.  
  • Share expert advice and guidance to the members of the engineering survey teams and other parts of the business related to drone use and geospatial best practice. 


We are looking for:

  • Professionally qualified at member status from a relevant accredited body e.g. Institution of Civil Engineers, Royal Institute of British Architects, Chartered Institute of Building, Engineering Council, Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation, The Institution of Engineering and Technology, Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors.
  • Relevant degree in the technical discipline being managed, e.g. Land surveying (or similar) - Engineering, Geospatial.
  • CSCS Card in suitable category (e.g. Professionally qualified Person or Manager)
  • Experience of this sector and understanding of the technical governance regime.
