Description:
NControl Driving School is seeking Driving Instructors to join our team in Gilbert, AZ! You will be responsible for training new drivers in an IN-THE-CAR setting. The role of the driving instructor is to provide our curriculum in a safe, well-explained, patient & personable instruction to the student. The course of instruction is focused on safe and defensive driving practices and theories with reinforcing current driving laws. (MUST BE WILLING TO WORK WEEKENDS).

This is a purpose & passion driven position. If you love driving and are passionate about helping people develop new skills, this could be just the job you're looking for! (MUST BE ABLE TO HANDLE 10 THINGS AT ONCE). (MULTITASKING & ACCURATE).

Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Able to instruct students in a patient, calm and personable fashion to increase customer value and lessening the stress, while in stressful situations.  (You're on the roads with a new driver, that may have anxiety and no idea what to do.).
  • Display a professional and welcoming demeanor both in person and on the phone.
  • Interact in a positive and timely manner with parents, students, and staff; and courteously provide necessary assistance.
  • Educate (Traffic Laws) and evaluate (using iPad) new drivers behind the wheel, both adults and teenagers.
  • Communicates effectively to parents/spouses/family members of the student. Reviewing driving skills, abilities, and areas that need continued practice.
  • Observes students' driving ability by conducting and rating road evaluations, specifying maneuvers to be performed; monitoring traffic safety rule compliance, and filling out road evaluation score sheet.
  • Complete all documentation, forms reports, and records electronically & thoroughly using an iPad.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction by providing clear, concise, and patient teaching techniques for clients.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Must have a Valid Arizona Driver's License with NO Suspensions (Deal Breaker, State Law).
  • High School Diploma or Greater.
  • Has a minimum of 15 years of driving experience (the rougher the environment the better).
  • No convictions/citations for DUI, excessive speeding, or reckless driving in the past 39 months. (SUSPENSIONS - don't even apply).
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
  • A working cell phone to contact clients pre & post-drive.
  • Knowledge of the laws of the State of Arizona and behind-the-wheel driving, as stated in the MVD driver’s manual & must obey the laws.
  • The ability to pass state standard testing through the State of Arizona Motor Vehicle Department.
  • The ability to administer road evaluations to students when applicable and be trained and/or have the understanding of filling out the appropriate MVD forms electronically.
  • The applicant will be provided adequate training in all required areas listed above.
  • State MVD Certification for Driving Trainers (a valuable plus but not required).
  • Background in professional driving /racing skills (plus but not required).  Uber or Lyft is not professional drivers.
  • Previous Law Enforcement, EMT, or Firefighter background is a plus.
