Our Drivers are the reason for and the key to our success. Our Drivers have the benefit of being home every night, are assigned a Company Truck, and do not have to load or unload the freight. We believe in a work/life balance and our Dispatcher is very flexible with the hours that you like to operate and the locations that you like to run. With the hard work and dedication of our valued drivers, Hucks has been able to operate successfully for 59 years. JOB TITLE: Commercial Truck Driver

EMPLOYER: Hucks Piggyback Service, Inc.

DEPARTMENT: Intermodal Trucking

REPORTS TO: Erin Ward

EFFECTIVE DATE: 12/1/2020

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for transporting and delivering goods to the customer in a safe and timely manner. This position does not handle freight at loading or unloading.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver goods to customers.
  • Records cargo deliveries.
  • Refuels and cleans vehicle.
  • Reports road incidents to the dispatcher.
  • Follows traffic laws.
  • Inspects trucks and record issues.
  • Follows accident procedures.
  • Keeps an activity log and log hours.
  • Reports mechanical problems to maintenance personnel.
  • Deliver goods to the location on time.
  • Maintains a positive attitude with customers.
  • Keeps Commercial Driver License up to date.
  • Keeps Medical Certification up to date.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Class A CDL or Commercial Driver License.

  • 2 years verifiable driving experience.
  • Other skills required:
    1. Must pass drug and alcohol test.
    2. Must have clean driving record.
    3. Must provide a medical certificate.
