Job description

The Role
We are looking for a sharp, proactive Driver Operations Lead to own our morning dispatch and keep our fleet running like clockwork. You are the heartbeat of the daily operation responsible for ensuring our crews are professional, our trucks are safe, and our customers are happy.
What You’ll Do
This is not a "desk-only" job. You’ll be in the yard inspecting trucks, training new hires, and leading moves as needed. The office and on-site split will be approximately 30/70. If you are a natural leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has an eye for detail, we want to talk to you.
  • Morning Launch: Command the morning dispatch. Ensure all crews are on time, in uniform, and ready to represent the brand. Document any lates, call-outs, or infractions immediately.
  • Strategic Assignment: Assign crews to jobs based on skill level and job complexity to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Compliance amp; Safety: Audit driver HOS logs and DVIRs daily. Conduct visual and mechanical truck inspections to ensure the fleet is road-ready.
  • Fleet amp; Inventory: Keep trucks stocked with necessary equipment (pads, straps, tools). Monitor supply levels and alert the Manager when it’s time to reorder.
  • Real-Time Monitoring: Use Geotab to track crew progress, spot-check moves with documentation, and troubleshoot delays in real-time.
  • Leadership amp; Training: Conduct hands-on training and retraining classes for new hires to maintain our high service standards.
  • Operational Support: Assist on moves as needed, drive trucks when necessary, and ensure all post-job paperwork is filed accurately.
  • Facility Care: Maintain a clean, organized, and professional office and yard environment.
What We’re Looking For
  • Leadership Experience: Proven ability to manage crews and hold a team accountable.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with HOS (Hours of Service) and DVIR requirements.
  • Technical Savvy: Experience with GPS tracking platforms (Geotab preferred) and digital dispatching.
  • Physical Readiness: Ability to drive truck and lead moves and perform mechanical inspections.
  • Valid Driver’s License: A clean driving record is a must; experience driving large trucks is mandatory with DOT Medical Card.
  • Organizational Skills: You can juggle scheduling, training, and paperwork without breaking a sweat.
This job posting is for a position at the individually owned and operated TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchise located in Chicopee, MA. The employer at this location is Capital Group Western Mass, LLC.
