Role Description This is a full-time, on-site CDL A Truck Driver / Owner Operator role based in Austell, GA. Day-to-day responsibilities include safely operating a CDL Class A vehicle, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and transporting freight between designated locations while following all DOT and company safety regulations. The role involves securing loads as required, maintaining accurate logs and delivery documentation, and communicating proactively with dispatch about schedules, delays, and equipment needs. The position requires consistent attendance, adherence to assigned routes or schedules, and professional interaction with customers, yard staff, and other drivers.


Qualifications

  • Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record and current DOT medical certification.
  • Proven experience operating Class A commercial vehicles, including backing, coupling/uncoupling trailers, and maneuvering in yard and dock environments.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and safe cargo handling practices.
  • Ability to perform vehicle inspections, identify basic mechanical issues, and report maintenance needs promptly.
  • Reliable time management skills, with the ability to follow route plans, meet delivery schedules, and work flexible hours as needed.
  • Professional communication skills for interacting in with dispatch, customers, and yard personnel, including accurate completion of logs and paperwork.
  • Physical ability to handle routine tasks such as climbing in and out of trucks, handling trailer doors, and working in varying weather conditions.
  • Owner operators: access to well-maintained equipment that meets safety and regulatory standards (if applicable).
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in regional or local trucking
