Position Purpose:
As a CDL A Transport Driver, you play a critical role in keeping our distribution network moving. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of double 28’ pup trailers between the Somerset, KY Distribution Warehouse and a designated swap depot in Tennessee.
This dedicated shuttle role offers consistent routes, highway-focused driving, and the benefit of being home daily, making it an excellent fit for drivers who prefer linehaul-style work without the physical demands or customer interaction of store delivery routes.
While this role is primarily transport-focused, drivers are expected to remain flexible and may occasionally assist with delivery routes to support overall transportation operations.
Benefit amp; Wage Information:
  • Flat Daily Pay Structure – Drivers earn a consistent flat daily rate tied to their assigned shuttle route, providing predictable weekly income.
    • Daily Rate: $235
      • Pay Stability: Earnings remain consistent regardless of route variables.

  • Monday-Friday

  • Typical Shift Length: 10-12 hours per day

Essential Functions
  • Safely operate a Class A tractor with double 28’ pup trailers.
  • Transport loaded doubles to designated swap depots according to assigned schedule.
  • Retrieve previously delivered trailers and return them to the Somerset, KY Distribution Warehouse.
  • Properly couple, uncouple, and inspect double trailers.
  • Perform and document pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections electronically.
  • Adhere to all DOT, state, and local regulations, as well as Team Modern safety policies.
  • Utilize ELD systems and in-cab technology (including dash cameras) to maintain compliance.
  • Communicate proactively with the Transportation Manager regarding delays, safety concerns, or equipment issues.
  • Operate safely in varying traffic and weather conditions.
  • Wear designated uniforms and maintain a professional appearance while on duty.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and guidelines.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to excel at the essential functions assigned. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years old (DOT)
  • Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License Class A with doubles/triples endorsement.
  • Prior linehaul, shuttle, or doubles experience preferred.
  • Strong safety record with a commitment to defensive driving.
  • Comfortable working early morning or overnight hours.
  • Dependable and punctual, with the ability to meet scheduled departure times.
  • Familiarity with navigation systems and mobile driver technology.
  • Willingness to provide occasional delivery route support when needed.
  • Must pass drug screening, background check, and DOT physical examination.

Additional Information
Physical Demands: This is a driving-focused role with limited physical labor. Drivers must be able to:
  • Sit for extended periods while operating a commercial vehicle.
  • Perform daily coupling and uncoupling of trailers.
  • Climb in and out of the tractor as needed.
  • Lift up to 75 lbs when required.
  • Use a two-wheel hand truck (dolly) and perform reaching, bending, stooping, walking up and down ramps, and climbing a step ladder on an occasional basis.

Working Conditions:
  • Daily highway travel.
  • Exposure to varying seasonal weather conditions.
