Position Overview
Our client is hiring CDL-A drivers for a dedicated big-box retail account running a mix of shuttles, full loads and store deliveries out of West Jefferson, Ohio. Freight on this fleet is tri-temp and dual-temp refrigerated, store unload observed by driver; lift gate and pallet jack at inner-city stores, running downtown Chicago and the surrounding Chicago suburbs. Home time is weekly, which makes this a strong fit for drivers who want a predictable routine and a consistent paycheck rather than long, open-ended stretches on the road.
Key Responsibilities
- You will operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely and legally at all times, completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, monitoring your hours of service, and keeping your logs accurate and current in accordance with federal regulations and company policy
- You will transport freight on schedule across downtown Chicago and the surrounding Chicago suburbs, following assigned routes, planning fuel and rest stops sensibly, and communicating proactively with your fleet manager when weather, traffic, or a customer delay puts a delivery window at risk
- The fleet runs shuttles from points in Whitestown and Demotte, Indiana alongside full loads and direct deliveries
- All loads are preloaded on tri-temp or dual-temp reefers
