Job description

Mobile Operations Leader II


General Summary

The Mobile Operations Leader II will be responsible for the successful execution of medium-scale mobile blood drives. The Leader II will ensure the collection of safe, pure and potent blood products while ensuring the delivery of an exceptional donor experience.

The position is responsible for providing the daily work instruction and feedback to ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) are followed.

The position will actively participate in the formal performance feedback process.

The position is responsible for coaching and mentoring team members to achieve performance goals.

Provide world class customer service by capturing and being responsive to the voice of the customer (internal or external, including donors for select positions) through multiple feedback channels in order to


resolve issues and drive satisfaction in accordance with the BBG customer engagement, feedback, and complaint processes.


Major Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Tasks

Exhibit a positive leadership role for staff.

Ensure the delivery of an exceptional donation experience.

Maintain a good working relationship with co-workers.

Effectively establish rapport with the blood drive sponsor through professional representation of the blood center.

Provide specific work direction to team members, monitor the collection operations, and deliver feedback on performance.

Assist in the unloading, setting up, taking down and reloading of mobile equipment.

Ensure that the quality control function has been appropriately performed and documented IAW SOP.

Ensure that donor eligibility is appropriately determined through comprehensive medical history interview, medical screening procedures (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, Hgb/Hct via finger stick).

Ensure all necessary records are legible, accurate and complete.

Perform donor screening, phlebotomy, automated collections, record review and data entry procedures.

Prevent, assess and treat adverse donor reactions.

Coach and mentor assigned staff in job performance along with completion of formal performance feedback.

Ensure the effective onboarding of new Mobile team members (may be required).

Transport mobile staff and operational supplies in designated motor vehicles.

Maintain a good working relationship with Manager including reporting issues relating to donors, donor groups, or departmental operations.

Provide assistance to other departments as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Required Minimum Education

Requires a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.


Preferred Education

Prefer sixty (60) hours from an accredited college or university or Associate Degree from an accredited college or university.


Licenses and/or Certifications

Valid United States Driver's License

Must successfully pass internal vehicle driver training

Must successfully pass forklift operator training


Experience

Required Minimum Experience

Requires four or more years of job specific experience to include one year as an Operations Leader I.

In lieu of two years of blood or plasma experience, two years of relevant leadership experience may be considered.

Must acquire a working knowledge of donor processing criteria.

Must maintain knowledge of cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and regulatory requirements concerning donor suitability criteria, test reporting, donor deferral, and donor reentry protocol.

Must maintain knowledge of and perform according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies.

Must maintain knowledge of effective leadership techniques.

Must display a working knowledge of medical terminology.

Must be capable of determining daily blood drive production capacity and having production flow-based conversations.

Must demonstrate positive leadership skills.

Working Environment & Travel Requirements

Works in a well-lighted air conditioned and heated laboratory/department.

May be exposed to electrical, mechanical and chemical hazards and other conditions common to a laboratory environment.

May be exposed to blood borne pathogens and other conditions common to a clinical laboratory environment.

May have bodily exposure to refrigerator/freezer temperature, especially hands and face.

Will work extended hours during peak periods.

May be required to work any time of the day, evening or night during the week or weekend.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to drive on behalf of the organization.

Will sit, stand, walk, and bend during working hours.

Required to carry up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing corrected to a normal range.
