Job description

Universal Dedicated, Inc., a subsidiary of Universal Logistics Holdings, Inc., is a leading provider of asset-based and asset-light logistics solutions across North America. Through experienced leadership, advanced technology, and operational excellence, we deliver customized transportation and supply chain solutions that help our customers improve efficiency, service, and performance.


This position is based in Arlington, Texas, supporting General Motors (GM) operations. Our team plays a critical role in coordinating daily transportation activities, managing driver communication, supporting material flow, and ensuring the seamless movement of freight throughout GM's supply chain network.


Shift Available

  • 2nd Shift: Monday-Saturday, 2:00 PM - 11:30 PM


Additional Earning Opportunity

  • Employees working the Saturday shift have the opportunity to earn overtime pay based on hours worked.


Responsibilities

  • Process transportation paperwork, manifests, bills of lading, and shipment documentation.
  • Track inbound and outbound shipments while maintaining accurate transportation records.
  • Communicate with drivers, customers, and internal teams regarding load status, delays, and service exceptions.
  • Assist with driver check-in/check-out activities and daily transportation support functions.
  • Update transportation management systems and maintain accurate operational data.
  • Monitor emails and respond to customer and driver inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Investigate shipment discrepancies and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Support KPI tracking, reporting, and other administrative functions.
  • Collaborate with transportation and warehouse teams to ensure efficient freight movement.
  • Provide general administrative support to the transportation operation as needed.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 0-2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, customer service, or an administrative role preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
