Job description


Driver Assistant

We are looking for a responsible Driver Assistant to safely assist Delivery Drivers while distributing products to customers. You will learn the job responsibilities of a Delivery Driver and with the possibility of obtaining a Class A CDL license with the company.

Ultimately, once you obtain your Class A CDL you will transition to a Delivery Driver role.

Schedule: Monday-Friday some Saturdays as needed. From 3:00 AM-until finished.

Pay: $21.80 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Use ramps, stairs, and/or docks with a 2-wheeled hand truck dolly.
  • Learn how the fleet management system works to track stops and locations.
  • Familiarize yourself with DOT regulations and Nicholas and Company safety policies.
  • When performing deliveries when Delivery Drivers place all products in designated customer delivery area.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service and problem-solving skills; immediately report customer issues including delivery variances to supervisor/sales, etc.
  • Check invoices for credit terms, sign, and code at each stop. Collect funds when needed, turn in reconciliation sheet along with collected funds and invoices to Returns Clerk at the end of the route.

Requirements:

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Clean driving record (less than two violations)
  • Willingness to obtain Class A CDL.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills.
