Job Description Driver Fitness Administrative Assistant 2 - MVD Training & Programming Motor Vehicle Division - Policy & Partnerships Bureau The Iowa Department of Transportation is committed to our mission: Making Lives Better Through Transportation. The Driver Fitness Program plays an essential role in maintaining roadway safety while ensuring fair, consistent, and customer-focused processes for Iowans impacted by medical, vision, and crash-related driver review requirements. We are seeking a Driver Fitness Administrative Assistant 2 to provide essential administrative and customer service support for the Driver Fitness Program.

Responsibilities include reviewing reports, processing documentation, ensuring compliance with policies, managing workflows, and facilitating communication among field offices, medical providers, law enforcement, partner agencies, and the public. Location: Ankeny, with Remote Work Available Shift Requirements: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional in-state travel. This role requires strong decision-making ability, careful application of law and policy, and effective communication with customers, field offices, medical providers, law enforcement, and internal partners.

Processing Driver Fitness reports & applying record actions Supporting field staff with their driver fitness inquiries Maintain Driver Fitness workflows and documentation Providing program coordination & support to the Driver Fitness Program Manager What Makes You Stand Out: Ability to analyze complex information and apply statute, rule, and program policy. Strong internal and external customer service skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience interpreting medical or technical information (preferred but not required). Excellent judgment, documentation accuracy, and customer service focus. Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
