Job Summary:
Under close supervision, this position is responsible for loading, delivering, and unloading products using various equipment types including flatbeds, box trucks, and dry vans. The incumbent will assist with securing products, ensuring paperwork completion and accuracy, communicating ETAs to customers, unloading products at job sites, stores, or customer homes, communicating with J.B. Hunt management throughout the day, and cleaning the equipment at the end of the day. Incumbents must be able to work any shift to satisfy the demand for scheduling flexibility to ensure operational success. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
• Review loading tickets and specifications to select and load appropriate products onto the delivery vehicle
• Communicate delivery arrivals to the customer
• Assist driver with ensuring all paperwork is in order, accurate, and complete
• Unload products from the delivery vehicle using appropriate equipment such as a lift gate, ramp, pushcart, or pallet jack
• Interact with coworkers and customers in a professional, fast-paced environment to ensure customer needs are met while building a strong working relationship with a positive attitude
• Maintain cleanliness of delivery equipment and workspace
• Understand and promote all J.B. Hunt safety requirements including the required use of personal protective equipment to ensure the safety of self and co-workers; adhere to safety policies and procedures to ensure the job site is safe for product installation and free from hazards and obstructions that could endanger workers or damage the delivery site
• May help in installing and assembling large appliances, furniture, and home exercise equipment
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 18 years of age
  • AND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences:
  • Must possess the ability to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed
  • Ability to lift product, up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to move and maneuver product upwards of 300 lbs using proper tools and carts, manual conveyance assistance, team lifting techniques, and accommodations
  • Ability to wear appropriate work attire (bump cap, footwear-steel toed shoes, gloves, safety vest)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Customer service skills
  • Experience in handling products, especially home appliances and bulky furniture
  • Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record that meets J.B. Hunt standards

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
