This position requires graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program. This is a mandatory Veterans Health Administration (VA) requirement.

Position Responsibilities:
The Medical-Surgical RN will provide direct and indirect nursing care within acute care and telemetry inpatient units. Responsibilities may include:
  • Patient assessments and symptom management.
  • Medication administration.
  • IV therapy and fluid replacement.
  • Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm observation.
  • Admissions, discharges, and transfers.
  • EMR documentation.
  • Central line care.
  • Heparin drip management.
  • Chest tube and drainage tube management.
  • Foley catheter and ostomy care.
  • Wound care and wound vac therapy.
  • Pain management.
  • Pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
  • Blood product administration.
  • Monitoring for sepsis, respiratory complications, cardiac conditions, and other acute care needs.
  • Collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must have:
  • Graduation from a professional nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
  • Current Ohio RN license or current multi-state compact RN license.
  • Current American Heart Association CPR certification.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum of two years of direct patient care experience within the last three years.
  • Acute care Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred.
  • Ability to interpret telemetry and cardiac monitoring.
  • Strong electronic health record documentation skiname, title, organization, email address, and phone number.

Important Education Requirement:
Candidates must have graduated from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program. Nursing school accreditation will be verified before submission.
