Position:Drill Operator

Pay rate: $28.00/hr- $38.00/hr (Based on experience)

Travel: Yes Regional

We are currently looking forDrill Operatorsto join our Geotechnical Group in the Virginia.The ideal candidate is highly motivated and dependable individual.This individual must have the ability to communicate efficiently, work well with others and direct others assisting in the work.Experience in earth work and micro piles drilling is preferred.Extensive travel is a requirement of this position as work is performed in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions.Per diem allowance is provided in addition to base pay/benefits when travel is required.
The Geotechnical Construction Services group provides services for projects requiring foundations and earth retention systems. Work is performed outdoors year-round.

Wagman is a multi-faceted construction firm with major operations in heavy civil, general construction and geotechnical construction services. Wagman is a fourth generation, family-owned company with offices in Pennsylvania and Virginia and is headquartered in York, PA. As a heavy civil contractor, Wagman is a nationally recognized leader in the industry. Core competencies include: design-build, infrastructure, marine construction, modified concrete, grooving and grinding, and geotechnical construction services.

This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.

Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
  • Experience with temporary shoring, earth retention systems, foundations and ground stabilization
  • Ability to both operate small diameter drill rigs and help ground crew carry work effectively

Essential Functions:

  • Operate and assist in maintaining Drill Rigs, installing tie backs, micropiles, soil mats etc.
  • Experience preparing Grout for tiebacks, micropiles etc. is a plus
  • Perform minor repairs and service to equipment
  • Supervision of drill rig helpers to tool or mix grout
  • Develop a full understanding of the Wagman safety policies and procedures and promote our safe culture

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from ground level to waist level and 30 pounds to above shoulder level throughout a scheduled work shift.
  • Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
  • Qualified candidates must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to climb ladders
  • Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
  • Position requires acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing
  • Must be able to work at heights up to 150 feet
  • Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and crawl
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands
  • Must have the ability to reach, lift and perform work above shoulder height - and the ability to work on uneven surfaces and in confined spaces
