Triad Engineering, Inc. has an immediate need for a Drill Helper in our Scott Depot, WV office. This entry-level position assists in operating a drill rig and performing test borings

DUTIES
  • Follow all corporate and job site safety procedures
  • Assist in obtaining soil and rock samples from test borings, using proper collection/handling methods
  • Assist in installation of monitoring wells, piezometers and inclinometers
  • Assist in the preparation of boring logs and field reports
  • Maintain vehicles and equipment in a clean and working order
  • Perform drill rig and support vehicle maintenance
  • Maintain a service-friendly and professional relationship with the client/owner while on site
  • Maintain frequent and effective communication with Drill Operator and Drilling Supervisor
  • Strives to make each project profitable

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred

Experience
  • No experience is required
  • Mechanical ability required (operator, repair, maintenance, welding, etc.)
  • Some heavy equipment, drilling, and/or construction-related field experience is desirable

Additional Requirements
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Ability to read, write and perform basic math
  • Must be comfortable communicating with the public
  • Must be available to work in all types of indoor and outdoor environments
  • A CDL license is strongly encouraged

The employee regularly works in outside weather conditions, frequently works near moving mechanical parts, and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Must have the ability to stand 90% of the time (often on uneven surfaces) and walk 20% of the time with frequent bending and stooping. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms; frequently required to stand, talk and hear; occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch and crawl. Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
