PRODUCTION ENTRY

JOB TITLES:
Material Handler, Furnace Outlet/Inlet Operator, Cut Off Operator, Mill Operator, End Welder, Slitter Operator, Recoiler Operator, Straightener Operator, Auto Saw Operator, Packer/Chamfer, Bander, Deburrer, Water Truck Driver, Inspector, Pointer Operator, Draw Bench Operator, Fork Truck Driver, Maintenance Technician, Machinists.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operation of a variety of machines ranging for a six-ton overhead crane to a tube-forming mill.
  • Responsibilities range from loading/unloading materials onto/off of machines, processing tubing through equipment and ensuring quality of tubes being produced and shipped out.
  • Ensure that the equipment is in a safe operating condition.
  • Review the computerized work list for the equipment, locate the available material and prioritizes the orders to be processed.
  • Communicates with the other operators to formulate the run order of material.
  • Loads/unloads various machines to include conveyors
  • Performs any necessary set-up during shift.
  • Complete daily Operational and Safety Checklists.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to read and speak English is preferred.
  • Mathematical skills equivalent to high school level including the ability to do decimals, fractions and averages required.
  • Must be able to communicate, both in written and verbal form, effectively with supervisors and co-workers. Regular attendance at work and punctuality are essential job functions.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day on a regular basis. May require additional hours of work, as required.
  • Requires full range of body motion to include: lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, stooping, and squatting.
  • Position requires frequent walking and/or standing on concrete floor while wearing steel-toed shoes. May walk up to two (2) miles per shift while performing essential duties.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • May require unassisted lifting of a variety of objects from various positions, which range in weight from 5 to 50 pounds with an average weight of 34-37 pounds.
  • Utilizes a variety of hand positions such as turning and twisting.
  • Dealing with production workers as well as supervisors when working under the pressure of production deadlines or emergency situations can be stressful.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Manufacturing area of the facility.
  • The manufacturing environment has regular exposure to loud and prolonged noise.
  • Regular exposure to hot temperatures of 95 F to 110 F in the summer due to the combination of the actual outside temperature and heat from the processes inside the facility. Employees are also exposed to cold temperatures, which is dependent on the actual outside temperature.
  • While in the manufacturing area, employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields and steel toed work shoes.
