Position Description
The Electrical Drafter II position is a drafter with a power systems design and drafting emphasis. This position is for an experienced drafter seeking to expand their power design and drafting career with a stable, innovative, and rapidly growing utility company.
Key Responsibilities
  • Create professional grade CAD drawings from engineering sketches and concepts.
  • Organize and put together design drawing submittals and construction drawing packages.
  • Update as-built CAD drawings per field red-lines.
  • Draft electrical system operational site maps, single-lines, and schematics under senior designer/engineer's supervision for all of CLP operations.
  • Keep up to date with latest GIS, CAD, and system modeling software features and use them to improve drafting quality and efficiency.
  • Create bill of materials (BOMs) for engineering projects.
  • Learn and maintain basic power engineering concepts and fundamentals.

Skills | Knowledge | Experience
  • Associate degree or similar in CADD and Design from accredited college preferred.
  • 3-5 years drafting experience required.
  • Basic understanding of medium voltage electrical substations and distribution system configurations and functions is preferred.
  • Familiar with electrical systems component drafting and design.
  • Must have excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Must be a team player and be able to work with various partners from start to finish.

Work Authorization | Security Clearance:
  • You must be able to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Military Base Access Security Clearance is required for this position.
  • A valid driver's license with a record that meets the CLP Fleet Policy.

Position Type | Expected Hours of Work
  • This is a hybrid position. Office hours of work are Monday through Friday. The ability and availability to travel, attend meetings and functions outside typical business hours required.

Travel
  • Travel between job sites is expected with 25% overnight travel expected.

Compensation | Benefits
  • We offer an excellent benefits package that includes medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, 401k with company contribution, paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Salary range: $27.98 - $37.21/hourly based on experience plus eligible to participate in Short Term Incentive Plan.
    • We reserve the right to pay more or less than the posted salary range based on factors unrelated to sex.
