Job description

Position: Engineer/Drafter
Full-Time, Onsite
Location: Milton, WA
Cannon Companies is looking for qualified applicants to join our team as an Intermediate level Drafter. Our Drafters work closely with Project Managers to develop a plan for each job. Our company is striving to offer more to our customers from engineering, designing, planning and implementation of a project. This role will be the lead for our engineer/drafter team and the direct contact for our customers.
Essential Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's in Engineering (or 4-years of related work experience)
  2. Minimum 3-years professional CAD experience in Civil/Structural/ or Architectural design.
  3. Proficient utilizing AutoCAD 2016 or later
  4. Possess excellent analytical skills and ability to problem solve
  5. Be willing to learn and able to adapt to changes
  6. Have a positive attitude and be highly motivated
  7. Be organized and have a strong attention to detail
  8. Must have leadership/supervisor and/or management experience
  9. Have a current valid Driver's License
  10. Be able to pass a pre-employment Drug Screening and Criminal Check

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Assist design/engineering team in project support from initial concept, through final construction drawings.
  2. Create and prepare survey documents
  3. Create design and Traffic Control Plans for permit submittals
  4. As-Builting work of finished product
  5. Perform all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and use appropriate safety equipment

Beneficial Skills:
  1. Knowledge of design programs other than AutoCAD is highly desired
  2. Telecom knowledge and/or certifications are a HUGE plus
  3. Ability to read and understand complex prints for fiber slicing and equipment installations
  4. Understanding basic civil engineering requirements and standards
  5. Registered Traffic Control Supervisor (for reviewing and stamping of TCP)
