Job description

Full job description:
The Designer / Draftsman will primarily be focused on developing and maintaining project Permit coordination and submittal, Shop Fabrication, and P&ID drawings sets. Will assist Clients, Engineers, Estimators, and Layout Detail teams with developing and maintaining project drawings and design support documentation.  
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop MEP Drawings sets from information provided by Engineers, Estimators, Clients, Manufacturers and Collaborators using AutoCAD.
  • Assist in dimensioning and layout to develop shop fabrication drawings for piping pre-fabrication projects.
  • Coordinate with multiple departments and clients as required to provide accurate As-Built Drawings post construction.
  • Develop and maintain Refrigeration System Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
  • Assist Project Managers with equipment submittal document organization and tracking. 

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must:
  • Have complete command of AutoCAD 2D, 3D, and MEP  
  • Be able to read and interpret construction drawings from all disciplines.
  • Have experience with Microsoft Office Applications. Word, Excel, MS Project 
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Be self-motivated to work under pressure and stay on track.

Education and/or Experience:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
  • Engineering Computer Aided Drafting Certification Required.
  • 2+ years’ experience in MEP Construction Drafting and Design. 
  • AS or BS in Engineering Technologies a plus.

Experience in Industrial Refrigeration, knowledge of Ammonia piping and IIAR standards a huge plus.
