POSITION:               Community Coach
LOCATION:             Hugh Mills Stadium
JOB SUMMARY:
The Dougherty County School System is seeking a motivated Community Coach who has a passion for working with school students of all ages. The Community Coach will assist Head Coaches in game techniques and strategies to prepare for competition and determine the need for individual and/or team improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS: 
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent required;
  2. Georgia High School Association Lay Coaching Certificate required;
  3. Up-to-date knowledge of applicable sports;
  4. CPR/AED Certified;
  5. Knowledge of safety practices;
  6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate. 
 
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:      
  1. Excellent communication (oral and written) and organizational skills are essential;
  2. Ability to maintain a harmonious relationship with other staff members and community support groups;
  3. Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, school based staff, students, parents, and the community.
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:  
  1. Assists with the development and implementation of program functions and activities in accordance with Dougherty County Schools and Georgia High School Association rules and regulations related to sports;
  2. Promotes interest, skills, and lifelong participation in various physical activities;
  3. Assists in organizing and administering the athletic program so that it is closely integrated and thoroughly coordinated with the general purposes of education;
  4. Emphasizes safety in teaching techniques and elements of play and thoroughly educate the players on the rules of the game;
  5. Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director of Athletics.
 
REPORTS TO:  Director of Athletics
SALARY RANGE:  Competitive salary and excellent benefits package in accordance with the DCSS Compensation Guide.
