JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Housekeeping Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Housekeeping
REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
 

SUMMARY:

The Housekeeping Supervisor will be responsible for the ownership and operational execution of the Housekeeping Department during their shift. Supervises and performs inspections to ensure highest standards of cleanliness and to provide a memorable guest experience through the anticipation of guest’s needs and providing exceptional service to support the hotel and department standards. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Needs to have a flexible schedule, able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. We are in need of afternoon/evening coverage.

· Consistently offer professional, positive, engaging and friendly service to guests and employees.

· Maintain a high level of professionalism in all aspects of job performance.

· Safeguards confidential guest, employee, and Company information and uses such information only for authorized business purposes. 

· Maintain a consistently high level of cleanliness in all public restrooms, lounges, guest rooms and other assigned areas by constantly performing daily, weekly, and monthly inspections.

· Schedule staff according to labor standards, occupancy forecast and upcoming events.

· Able to make decisions when Housekeeping Manager is not available based on current Standard Operational Procedures (SOP’s).

· Assist in other areas, and/or scheduled by the Housekeeping Management.

· Helps maintain all guest and employee areas by reporting any deficiencies to the Housekeeping Management or Engineering.

· Punctual, regular and reliable attendance is a condition for continued employment.

· Support safe work habits and a safe working environment at all times.

· Ability to assist the team and work in various roles throughout the housekeeping department.

· Supervise all Housekeeping employees.

· Conduct shift meetings to train, supervise, motivate, and develop team members.

· Assigns duties, special projects, and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

· Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.

· Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and bringing them to the attention of the Housekeeping Manager.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.  

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

· Equivalent housekeeping leadership experience is preferred.

· 1 year of housekeeping experience required.

· Ability to read and interpret simple instructions both in writing and verbally.

· Commitment to excellence and high standards.

· Ability to manage priorities and workflow.

· Ability to perform the physical labor necessary.

· Must be able to work independently and as a team player.

· Must be flexible to work AM and/or PM shifts, weekends, and holidays.

· Versatile, flexible and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

· Understand any and all safety requirements and cautions.

· Must provide valid document(s) to work in the U.S.

· Must meet legal age requirements for the position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry 50 pounds. 

· Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. 

EDUCATION:

· High school diploma or equal to a GED.

· Basic Math skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: 

· Must be able to communicate with others effectively. 

· Able to communicate well in English both verbally and written.

· Able to communicate in Spanish a strong asset.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

While performing these duties, the employee may be exposed to inclement weather conditions. 

GROOMING & UNIFORM: 

Employee must wear a uniform at all times during scheduled hours. Uniforms that have been tampered or destroyed will be the responsibility of the employee and disciplinary action will apply. 

· Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene, grooming, and uniform appearance, while adhering to all Company sanitation and safety policies.

· Antiperspirant or deodorant must be worn. 

· Any offensive self-inflicted marking tattoo on the body cannot be observed by the public. 

· Name tags must always be worn unless your department has a specific policy to the contrary. 


Pay: $22 per hour
