Maxwell Tribeca

New York, NY • On-site

$80K - $120K/yr

Full-time

This job post has expired today. Applications are no longer accepted.

Job description

Maxwell Social, Tribeca - maxwellsocial.com

Cocktail Program Director

Maxwell is a private members club in Tribeca built around culture, conversation, and the art of living well. Our

8,000-square-foot clubhouse was designed to feel like an extraordinary home, with richly layered interiors,

custom millwork and tile, maximalist upholstery and wallpapers, muraled walls, candlelit rooms, and one of the

most beautiful private outdoor patios in Manhattan. We host private events and member gatherings throughout the

week, with consistent programming Wednesday through Sunday.

Now we are ready to launch a Saturday night cocktail bar, the kind of room people plan their nights around. And

we are looking for the right person to help build it.

The Role

We are seeking a full-time Cocktail Program Director to lead Maxwell’s cocktail program and shape the identity of

our Saturday night experience.

This is a rare opportunity for someone coming from a top-tier cocktail program who wants more than another shift

behind someone else’s bar. You will have creative ownership over the cocktail program at a growing private

members club with a remarkable physical space, an established membership base, and significant room for cultural

impact.

You’ve spent years making drinks in other people’s legendary rooms. Now build your own.

This is a hands-on position. You will be behind the bar several nights a week, especially Fridays and Saturdays,

while also leading the creative direction of the program itself: seasonal menus, signature cocktails, event-specific

drinks, hospitality standards, and the overall rhythm and feeling of the bar experience.

What You’ll Do

We are looking for a cultural builder with elite cocktail sensibilities.

• Lead and evolve Maxwell’s cocktail program across both member service and special events

• Develop the Saturday night bar experience into one of the most compelling hospitality offerings in New York

• Design seasonal cocktail menus and signature drinks that reflect the identity and atmosphere of the club

• Create cocktails for themed evenings, private events, collaborations, and member experiences

• Execute drinks with precision, consistency, and strong technical fundamentals—from perfectly balanced classics

to ambitious modern techniques including infusions, clarifications, fat-washing, tinctures, and house-made

ingredients

• Work collaboratively with Maxwell’s existing bartending and operations teams to maintain a high level of service

and consistency

Page of 1 2• Help shape the energy, pacing, and hospitality culture of the room

• Build genuine relationships with members and regular guests in an intimate club environment where familiarity

and discretion matter

• Maintain a clean, organized, detail-oriented bar environment and uphold high aesthetic standards throughout

service

• Collaborate with leadership on programming, special events, partnerships, and long-term vision for the bar

program

Who You Are

• You come from a serious New York cocktail program with high standards of hospitality, technique, and taste

• You care as much about atmosphere and guest experience as you do about the drinks themselves

• You have strong knowledge of spirits, classic cocktails, contemporary cocktail culture, and evolving industry

trends

• You are creative and opinionated, with a clear point of view on what makes a great bar feel alive

• You understand how to build regulars, shape energy, and create experiences people want to return to

• You are calm and detail-oriented under pressure without becoming transactional

• You have excellent interpersonal instincts and are comfortable operating within a membership-driven

environment

• You are excited by the opportunity to help build something enduring

Experience at programs such as The Polo Bar, Attaboy, Double Chicken Please, Sip & Guzzle, Schmuck, or

similarly respected hospitality programs is highly valued.

Compensation

Salary: $80,000–$120,000, commensurate with experience and body of work

• Benefits negotiable

• Non-tipping establishment

• Significant creative ownership of the cocktail program

• Long-term growth opportunities as Maxwell expands its programming and footprint

• The opportunity to help shape one of New York’s most distinctive hospitality environments

How to Apply

We are interested not only in what you make, but in how you think. Please submit:

• A resume

• A brief cover letter

• A description of a cocktail you created that you are especially proud of, and why

Maxwell Social Club Tribeca is an equal opportunity employer.
