Ready to Lead Without Leaving Behind Why You Became a Therapist?

You became a therapist to make a difference. What if your next role gave you the opportunity to make that difference not only for your patients—but for an entire therapy team?

At AdvantageCare Rehabilitation, we’re looking for a Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) to lead our therapy department at Berks Heim in Leesport, PA.

This is an opportunity for a PT, PTA, OT/OTR, COTA, or SLP who is ready to combine clinical knowledge with leadership, team development, and operational oversight—all while working for a company that was founded by therapists and continues to be therapist-led more than 23 years later.

Whether you’re an experienced DOR looking for the right next move or a strong clinician who is ready to take the next step into leadership, we want to talk with you.

Lead a Team That Makes a Difference

As the Director of Rehabilitation at Berks Heim, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the day-to-day experience of both your therapy team and the residents they serve.

You’ll lead PT, OT, and Speech services while partnering closely with facility leadership and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure residents receive individualized, clinically appropriate therapy.

This isn’t about simply managing schedules and numbers.

It’s about building a strong department, developing great therapists, creating a positive culture, and ensuring that quality patient care remains at the center of everything your team does.

What You’ll Do

As DOR, you’ll be the connection between clinical excellence, your therapy team, facility leadership, and AdvantageCare.

You will:

  • Oversee the daily operations and performance of the rehabilitation department
  • Lead, support, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of therapy professionals
  • Provide direct patient care within your licensed discipline as appropriate
  • Partner with facility leadership and interdisciplinary team members
  • Support appropriate staffing, scheduling, and caseload management
  • Promote timely, accurate documentation and outcomes-focused treatment planning
  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and professional requirements
  • Help identify opportunities to strengthen clinical programming and therapy services
  • Foster employee engagement, collaboration, accountability, and open communication
  • Create an environment where therapists feel supported, valued, and empowered to provide excellent care
  • Champion AdvantageCare’s commitment to integrity, empathy, collaboration, and patient-centered care
Why Lead with AdvantageCare?

We know what it’s like to be a therapist—because we are therapists.

AdvantageCare was founded by therapists, and many of our leaders have clinical backgrounds. We understand that a DOR needs to balance the operational side of rehabilitation with something equally important: supporting the clinicians who are actually providing the care.

Therapist-Driven from the Top Down:
You’re not leading a therapy department for a company that doesn’t understand therapy. Our clinical roots influence how we approach patient care, leadership, and operations.

Leadership With Support:
Being a DOR shouldn’t mean figuring everything out alone. You’ll have access to operational and clinical leadership as you manage your department and develop your team.

Clinical Autonomy:
We believe clinicians should have a voice. As DOR, you’ll help create an environment where your therapists can use their education, experience, and clinical judgment to provide individualized care.

An Opportunity to Build Culture:
A great rehab department starts with its leader. You’ll have the opportunity to create a team environment where communication, collaboration, accountability, and recognition matter.

Growth That’s Real:
We believe in developing our people. AdvantageCare offers professional development, continuing education resources, leadership pathways, and opportunities for continued advancement as our organization grows.

Who We’re Looking For

You may be a great fit if you’re someone who:

  • Naturally brings people together
  • Leads through communication, support, and accountability
  • Understands that strong results and quality patient care should go hand-in-hand
  • Enjoys mentoring and developing other clinicians
  • Can balance clinical priorities with the operational needs of a rehabilitation department
  • Is organized, responsive, and comfortable making decisions
  • Builds positive relationships with residents, families, employees, and facility leadership
  • Wants the autonomy to lead while still having a support system behind you
  • Is excited about making an impact beyond your own individual caseload

Already a DOR? Great.

A strong clinician ready to grow into leadership? We’d like to hear from you, too.

What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology — or graduation from an accredited PTA or COTA program
  • Current or eligible Pennsylvania licensure within your discipline
  • Strong understanding of clinical documentation, regulatory compliance, and ethical patient care
  • Experience within SNF, LTC, rehabilitation, or post-acute care
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
  • Ability to develop relationships and collaborate effectively across disciplines
  • Previous rehabilitation leadership or supervisory experience is strongly preferred
Benefits & Perks That Support You

Eligible AdvantageCare team members have access to a comprehensive offering that includes:

  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • Telemedicine & Prescription Coverage
  • HSA & FSA Options
  • Pet Insurance
  • Free CEUs through Relias
  • $100 Annual License Renewal Stipend
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan
  • Employee Recognition Programs
  • Employee Referral Bonuses
  • Wellness & Engagement Programs
  • Professional development and leadership support
  • Real advancement opportunities within a growing organization that promotes from within
