Job description

The Doorman will devote majority of his / her time and focus on securing the building entrance. The Doorman must have positive, friendly attitude that is capable of interacting well with the residents and guests. The Doorman inquires of people who are requesting to entrance to the building premise, manage and record the incoming packages, and consistently utilizing the buildings video surveillance equipment to identify and respond to suspicious movements or anything that is potentially harmful to residents.

Position Duties and Responsibilities


Primary Tasks

  • Greet the guests or residents and evaluate identification of all individuals before permitting entry to the building; open the entrance door for residents and guests.
  • Keep the entrance to the building clear of debris
  • The Doorman also does a variety of activities such hailing taxis, receiving packages and other works that involves assisting the residents.
  • The Doorman must have some maintenance experience for they may occasionally provide assistance to the superintendent and porter of the building (e.g. picking up debris that is in the way of the entrance or poses a danger for residents walking in and out of the building, holding the door while super and porter bring in material etc.
  • Devote their time and focus in securing the vicinity of the building by inspecting (e.g. asking for id, which apartment do they want to visit) people who want to enter the premises.
  • Ability to respond to any emergency situations.
  • Able to answer some basic questions about the vicinity or neighborhood and also wear a complete uniform.
  • Keep the log book up-to-date and record any incidents; log all guests into the log book
  • Keep the package log book up-to-date; log all deliveries ,vendors, and contractors in the log
  • Attendance is an imperative job function.

Administrative

  • Uphold all company policies, goals and values.

Resident Relations

  • Represent the community in a professional manner at all times-on/off property.
  • Deliver communication documentation to superintendent.
  • Contribute to resident retention programs.
  • Not to harass other employees, residents or visitors in the building. If they are aware of harassment they have the obligation to immediately report it to management


Safety

  • Ensures that unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner.
  • Learns and ensures compliance with all company, local, state and federal safety rules.
  • Immediately report all unsafe conditions.


The Doorman remains on their feet always, transmitting information to others, assisting people both in and out the building, and serving as the interface of the building with the general public, vendors, and contractors.

Protect employer’s privacy and data; keep passwords safe.


Qualifications


  • Neat, clean and professional at all times throughout the workday and/or whenever present at the community.
  • The Doorman must stand on his feet for a very long period of time and be aware.
  • The Doorman must be pleasing and patient enough while opening the doors repetitively and is capable of working outside whether in a cold, rainy or hot weather.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills for communicating with residents, co-workers, and senior management.
  • Demonstrate ability to contribute to and foster a team approach to serving residents and maintaining a successful community.
  • Comply with expectations.
