The Role
As a Cheese & Charcuterie Team Member you will strive to be an ambassador of a vibrant menu of curated meats and cheeses. Your expertise will hand select the best ingredients creating amazing plates and trays for guests to have a comprehensive palette of tastes. You will support the Team Captain and Lead in Charcuterie and Cheese as you and a team of cheesemongers create a culture of nurturing passion for fantastic charcuterie and cheese through engaging hospitality
Responsibilities
  • Measured and rewarded by your ability to deliver Talk of the Town Guest Service, encourage optimal Charcuterie/Cheese team performance, and maintain Charcuterie/Cheese operations
  • Responsible for engaging in conversations with guests discussing cheese and pairings and ensure each guest receives an extraordinary experience
  • Drives sales through technical expertise, fast paced momentum and innovative merchandising
  • Successfully train and continuously develop expertise in the Cheese & Charcuterie department
  • Collaborate with Charcuterie/Cheese team to provide world class FRESH conditions and presentations including Quality of product, In-Stock, In-Code, product rotation, temperature checks, accurate labeling, scale accuracy
  • Assist with duties across the Charcuterie/Cheese department inclusive of prioritizing guest service, assist guests with locating product, breaking down deliveries, following recipes, cutting, and wrapping of product, stocking tables and cases, building displays, cleaning, posting/monitoring shelf tags/signs for accuracy
  • Ensures the high standards of Food Safety and Sanitation are always maintained throughout the Charcuterie/Cheese sales floor, cooler and backroom through regular cleaning and maintenance of equipment, tables, cases and shelves with organization and sanitation of all backrooms, food prep areas and supplies
  • Identify department trends for guest needs and expectations and collaborates with the Team Captain and/or Lead to deliver value and accelerate growth
Qualifications
  • Cheese & Charcuterie experience in a retail, specialty store, restaurant or hospitality environment preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational and planning skills
  • Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making and financial analysis
  • Ability to maintain composure, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities regularly: Walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions (Walking/Standing 90% and sitting 10% of day)
  • Frequent movement within the store to access various departments, areas and/or products
  • Physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force often and exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures - walk-in coolers and freezers
  • Exposure to chemicals and cleaning products
  • Operating equipment (baler, compactor, power jack, six-wheeler, box cutter, ovens, knives, slicers)
