Job description

Job Summary

The Tech Services Rep. provides Dole’s customers with ongoing technical and training related to the handling, banana ripening rooms, and retail merchandising techniques of Fresh Fruit products. The incumbent will recommend the best practices in a timely and accurate manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Visit customer facilities and comply with the assigned schedule.
  • Review all processes and practices performed by customers, providing technical training and support and ensure a proper execution of practices, correct use of equipment and merchandising techniques.
  • Work closely with Sales and Research & Development personnel (sometimes with Latin divisions) to resolve technical issues related to the handling, packaging, ripening and merchandising of fresh fruit products.
  • Develop reports related to findings and recommendations provided for each customer visiting, to send the information on time to the Sr. Technical Services Rep.
  • Provide training in terms of technical matters related to the handling, ripening and merchandising activities, to ensure the execution of the best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business administration, Marketing or a technical field related to Ag Production or related fields/food processing preferred
  • 2 years' experience in a field related to Agricultural production or food processing preferred
  • Availability to work overtime and weekends.
  • Availability to travel.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Able to lift to 50 lbs. (banana and plantain boxes on site as needed to perform quality checks at the warehouse or store levels).
  • Bilingual Spanish preferable.
