Job description

Kennel Technician (Pet Pro)

Join Our Pet-Loving Team

Do you love working with dogs and cats? Want to be part of a trusted team that makes pets feel safe, loved, and at home?

We're looking for a Part-Time Kennel Technician (internally called a Pet Pro) to join our team and care for our furry guests at their home away from home.

Who We Are

NVA Pet Resorts is part of National Veterinary Associates (NVA) - the largest private owner of veterinary hospitals and pet resorts in North America, with 1,300+ locations. We're proud to be in an $8B+ industry that continues to grow as pet parents seek premium, trusted care for their furry family members.

At NVA Pet Resorts, our mission is simple: create safe, fun, and loving environments for pets while providing experiences for our clients and team members.

What You'll Do

As a Pet Pro, you'll be hands-on in both daycare and boarding, providing safe, loving care while keeping our resort clean and welcoming.

Your day may include:

  • Walking dogs and supervising playgroups
  • Feeding pets and administering medications
  • Cleaning and sanitizing pet rooms and common areas
  • Monitoring pet health, behavior, and interactions
  • Documenting care notes and communicating with leadership
  • Engaging pets in enrichment activities like fetch, walks, and basic obedience games
  • Comforting shy guests and managing high-energy groups
  • Laundry and general facility upkeep
  • And yes - you'll scoop poop, clean messes, o home with fur on your clothes, and probably get plenty of sloppy kisses.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who is:

  • Passionate about dogs and cats
  • Gentle, patient, and safety-focused
  • Comfortable supervising multiple dogs at once
  • Able to recognize and prevent conflicts in playgroups
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits
  • Friendly and comfortable speaking with pet parents
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

You must be able to:

  • Stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 60 lbs
  • Work indoors and outdoors in various temperatures
  • Handle large and small dogs confidently
  • Work weekends and holidays
  • Be comfortable around pet messes and cleaning products

Work Schedule

  • Part-Time
  • Weekend availability required
  • Monday-Friday shifts
  • Holiday shifts required

Equal Opportunity Employer

NVA Pet Resorts is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace.

If you love animals, enjoy staying active, and want to work in a fast-paced, pet-focused environment - we'd love to meet you.

"Founded in 2005, The Pet Spot is an established grooming, daycare, and boarding facility that takes pride in delighted clients.
The Pet Spot is Cincinnati's top pet care resort for boarding, training, doggy daycare and grooming. We strive to make your furry family member's stay safe, enjoyable and fun! Our best customer feedback is watching your pet pull you back to our door on your next visit.
Our mission is simple: to be your pet's home away from home. The love of animals is a prerequisite to working here. If you trust us to take care of your pet, then you can rest easy knowing that the person taking care of your pet loves him/her as much as you do. When you trust us with your pet, they become part of our family!
Our facility includes over 2.5 acres (55,000 modern square feet) of indoor climate controlled dog heaven. The dogs have ample room to stretch their legs, run around and get all of their energy out.
