Dog Walker/Pet Sitter

Paws Around Motown

Oakland, MI • On-site

$15 - $17/hr

Part-time

Posted 10 days ago

Job description

Make a career out of what you love.
I started Paws Around Motown in 2014 - just me, my leash, and a handful of clients who trusted me with their dogs. Twelve years later there's a whole team, and the standard hasn't changed: we never rush a visit, and we treat every pet and home better than our own. Someone hands us their keys and their dog, and that means something.
I'm hiring several people right now. Here's who I'm looking for:
  • You show up - every time, on time. Someone is waiting on you and you know it.
  • You read animals - you notice the dog who's off today before anyone tells you.
  • You don't wait to be told - you see what needs doing and you handle it.
  • You do the right thing when nobody's watching (between cameras, timestamps, and reports, someone usually is - and that's fine by you).

The honest part - this isn't all puppy cuddles. Visits land in blocks across the day, so between them you'll also:
  • Work at our HQ
  • Help us grow in the community
  • Handle a full range of services: dog walking, adventure outings, pet sitting, pet taxis, and overnights

It's varied and it's active. If you want to walk one dog and clock out, this isn't your job.
Why our people stay:
  • We care - about the pets, the clients, and each other
  • We never cut corners, and the standard is real
  • We build our leaders from the inside - our Team Leaders all started in the field

The details:
  • $15.00-$17.00/hour to start, based on experience
  • Raise reviewed at 90 days
  • W2 employment - a real job, not a gig app
  • Part-time and full-time available
  • Oakland County (Berkley, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Clawson, Farmington, Ferndale, Franklin, Royal Oak, Southfild, Troy, West Bloomfield)

If this sounds like the place you've been looking for, apply - and tell me about an animal you'd trust us with.
- Becky Lea, Founder
