Job description

The Dog Stop ® is in need of enthusiastic groomers to join our team at our doggie daycare, boarding, grooming and retail store in Spring, TX!

We are seeking a trained and experienced dog groomer. Must be skilled and provide professional advice to the pet parents on the best services for their pets and perform grooming services that exceed their expectations. Customer service and time management experience is a must. Knowledge of the dog care industry is a requirement. We require a positive attitude, dedication to providing an unparalleled experience for our clientele, and, of course, the love of dogs is a must.

OVERVIEW:

Work Schedule: Part-time and full-time positions; weekend availability is required.

Salary: 50% commissioned plus tips

LOCATION:

Spring, TX 77379

DUTIES:

  • Full Nose-to-Tail Makeovers (this includes bath, nail trims, and full body cuts) for all breeds
  • Walk-in nail trims and gland expressions
  • Baths for all size dogs
  • Customer relations – develop relationships with clientele and their dogs. You should be able to explain to customers the best cut/grooming option for each dog.
  • Managing busy grooming schedules and communicating progress to receptionists and clients.
  • Maintaining a clean grooming room
  • Keep track of inventory
  • Upkeep grooming tools
  • At least one year of grooming experience with a wide variety of sizes and breeds of dogs


    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    You will be responsible for demonstrating and providing professional basic dog grooming services as requested by the customer’s instructions in order to support their dog’s physical, mental, social, and emotional needs in accordance with industry standards.

    You will be responsible for utilizing grooming instruments including shears and dryers in a safe manner for the dog.

    Responsible for the welfare of all dogs within the grooming area.

    Will deliver professional customer service and grooming services to customer.

    Must provide quick and professional courteous service to all customers.

    Position requires bending, kneeling, lifting and standing for long periods of time. A large amount of your time will be in direct contact with our customers and their dogs, and the remaining time will be maintaining the cleanliness of the grooming area.

    You will be responsible for developing long-term relationships with customer and their dog(s) by understanding their needs and recommending products and services that will keep their pet healthy and happy.

    All employees will adhere to all The Dog Stop Policies and Procedures.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Successful candidates must have a genuine affinity for dogs; they are the nucleus of our business! Possess strong verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with the dog owner(s). Must have strong ethical standards. Must follow extreme attention to detail. Possess strong organization skills, multi-tasking, and maintaining oversight. Must maintain a positive attitude and enthusiastic personality. Possess strong skills in organization, multi-tasking, and maintaining oversight. Must demonstrate proven knowledge and grooming industry skills. Must be able to work flexible work shifts and the ability to work weekends.
